We decided to put Kinley in the Freedom Festival baby contest. It was fun and Kinley did really well. She did not know what to think about the judges though. She usually smiles at everyone, but when the judges started to talk to her she just stared at them. We thought it was really funny. All she cared about was playing with the strings that held the baloons down. She didn't win any medals, but we still think she is the cutest baby ever.

Kinley's 1st baby contest
We decided to put Kinley in the Freedom Festival baby contest. It was fun and Kinley did really well. She did not know what to think about the judges though. She usually smiles at everyone, but when the judges started to talk to her she just stared at them. We thought it was really funny. All she cared about was playing with the strings that held the baloons down. She didn't win any medals, but we still think she is the cutest baby ever.
Big girl!!!
We decided that we had enough of sitting at home and not going anywhere, afraid
that Kinley would be cranky while we were out. We decided to spend the whole day
before Father's Day out and about having fun as a family. We went shopping, to dinner, and
Kinley's least favorite miniature golfing. I wish I had the pictures of her golfing with her Dad, but
we will save those for later posts. She is being such a big girl lately. She did not want to be held
she only wanted to sit in the booth just like her parents.
Of course I finally get some booties to fit her feet and all she wants
to do is pull them off or eat them. My Mom actually gave us these.
I don't know if they are actually ment to be worn. I thnk they are more for decoration
because they are so small, but they fit our little girl.

6 months old
Our little baby is now 6 months old. I can't believe it has been 6 months already! It felt like pregnancy was forever long and now that she is here time is just flying by. She is the best thing that has ever happened to Ryan and me. She has taught us so much in the last 6 months. Most of all she has taught us to be unselfish. I think that we all need a little lesson in that area every now and again. She is such a happy baby and is such a sweetheart. She also knows exactly what she wants and when she wants it. I guess it is just a girl thing. As you can see we can't just take pictures of her next to her bear anymore. All she wants to do is eat it and play with it. I guess that works to. Whatever makes her happy. I thought I would write down some of the things she is doing now.
*She rolled over for the first time on 6/10/08. She did it 3 times in a row.
*She giggles whenever Ryan lets her play with his hair.
*She is fully capable of drenching anyone in the room with her splashes
when she takes a bath.
*She loves rice cereal, but only rice cereal and only mixed with breast milk. She will not
eat any form of fruit. I fed her applesauce and she gagged so much she threw up. Can
we say drama. :)
*She still hates all bottles.
*She loves to eat her toes when I change her diaper.
*She talks the whole time we drive somewhere.
*She loves to give me kisses. Most of the time she will suck on my face or she will head butt my trying to kiss me. I love it though. She is stingy with everyone else. :)
*She loves our 5 mile walk we go on in the mornings to the Temple and back.
*She started to sit in her highchair this week and has a great time sitting with us while we eat dinner. Finally we can eat a meal together without one of us holding her.
*Sometimes I wake up in the morning to the sound of her talking to her mobile. I just get this big smile and know that I have the cutest baby to go get. I can't think of anything better to wake up to. I also love that she is always happy to see me.
*She hates to be in a room by herself so I spoil her and take her most everywhere.
* She has the strongest stomach muscles. She does crunches all the time.
* She loves to watch water and be in water.
* She loves to scratch that couch or anything that she can get her hands on.
* She also really likes books. We read about 6 different books about 6 times a day.
*She loves jewelry and hair. She is really fast and before you know it she has a hand full. *She is able to sit up on her own. I still put pillows behind her though because she throws herself back.
* She does this fake cough thing to get attention. It is really funny.
*When she gets mad she stands on my lap and holds her arms straight out to her side and shakes her arms while quietly screaming. I know it sounds funny but my Mom said that I used to do the same thing when I was little. I will try to get a picture of both of us.
* Her favorite songs are- I Am a Child of God. Families Can Be Together Forever. Childs Prayer. We sing them before every nap and bedtime. She just stares at me and quietly falls asleep.
* Most of all she makes everyone around her smile. You can't help but be happy when you look at her. I will spend the rest of my life trying to be more like her. We love you Kinley!

1st Dance
This is Ryan and Kinley dancing for the first time at my sister Michelle's wedding reception. They have danced many times together at home, but this was the first dance in public. I am sure the time will go by so fast and they will be dancing at her wedding before we know it. They looked so cute! If you can't tell, Kinley wasn't to happy at the time, but she was loving it before I took the picture. She absolutely loves her Dad. Everyday when he walks in the door from work she stops what she is doing and tries to look for her Daddy. She is so excited to see him. Ryan is such a great dad. I don't know what I would do without him.

Cyndi's Graduation Weekend
This last weekend Kinley and I went out to Roosevelt for Cyndi (my littlest sisters) graduation. It was so fun to spend time with family. We laid Kinley next to her cousin Kyler on the couch to play. It was so funny because they immediately started to hold hands. This lasted for a few minutes and Kinley started to attack Kyler so we had to rescue him. She is 7 days older than him, but you wouldn't know it. He weighs a good 6 pounds more than her. Look at the size of his hands next to hers. He will be able to palm a basketball in no time. We all joke he is going to be our money maker someday. We also got a 4 generation picture with my Mother and Grandmother. Then of course we got a picture with all my siblings before the graduation. Good job Cyndi we are all so proud
of you!
Some new tricks
Kinley is getting so smart! We have started the famous game, that all parents play with little ones, baby drops something and parents pick it up. Kinley does this over and over again with her toys. We have been adding a twist by making her retrieve her toys once she dops them. We just hold her down to that ground and she picks it up excitedly. This picture is of her getting her pacifier and of course the clip that she loves to suck on. She will pick it up and put it right back in her mouth. We love watching her figure out new things. She also has realized that whatever we have is way cooler than any other toy she has. As you can see she loves that candy wrapper even though she has many other colorfull options. She also loves the cellphone and remote control. I gave her my old cell phone to trick her but she is way to smart and of course wants the real thing.

Natalie's Birthday
May 15th was Natalie's birthday. I took her to her favorite restaurant, The Olive Garden, to eat. As you can see from the picture it was just the two of us. Our friends Corey and Erin watched Kinley for about 2 hours while we went to dinner. I had the gnnochi and chicken veronese and Natalie, who usually gets the chicken alfredo, tried something new after I said that she always gets the same thing. So she ordered the garlic tuscan chicken or something like that. Well my dinner was great and Natalie's was...not so great. She said that it was really garlicy. Well I felt pretty bad because I was the one that told her to try something new and so she did, but I hope that I didn't ruin her birthday dinner. Then for dessert our waiter sang "Happy Birthday" solo to Natalie and we shared a piece of black tie mousse cake, which was great. Overall Natalie had a great birthday.
Yummy
Thank Goodness for Straps!!
Kinley doesn't like to be in her chair and on the floor, because she can't see what's going on. So we have started putting her chair up on the kitchen counter next to the sink so that when we are cleaning, washing dishes, making dinner she can see what we are doing. Well the other day we turned around and she was leaning forward in her chair. For all those moms that just got worried, we make sure that her chair doesn't move and that she is always strapped in.

5 Months Old
I can't believe that Kinley is 5 months old already. I took her in for a weight check a few days ago and she weighed 12 lbs. 10 oz. She only gained about 10 oz. in one month, but the doctor was not concerned at all. He said that she is just going to be small. She is actually really strong and developing really well. She is a very smart little girl. She learned to blow bubbles the other day and makes alot of noise while doing so. As you can see she also loves to kick her legs out straight and move her feet. If they are against anything she will try to knead it with her toes. She is still not sleeping well, but we are hoping this phase will end soon. She really is a happy baby though. When we go anywhere she smiles at everyone and they just have to stop and look and talk to her. It takes us forever to get things done, but we are just happy she is happy. We love our little angel.

Fun Pics
I just think that these pictures are so cute of Kinley. Some mornings just after we wake up I look at her and I can't help but just count my blessings. She is so cute and sweet. I never want to forget how she looks and the cute faces that she makes now. The other pictures are of Kinley and her cousin Belle. They are great friends. Kinley of course is very curious of her and is always trying to touch and eat her. We love the picture of them holding hands though. This was also the very first time we were able to get Kinley to sit up on her own. She sat there like a pro for about 15 minutes. It is like all of the sudden it just clicked to her.

My two favorite people
This weekend we decided to go spend some time away at Park City. We were only gone for a couple of hours, but we had a great time. We bought Kinley some much needed summer clothes and also a some other fun items along the way. We love shopping for her. Ryan picked out this cute blue dress for her. We put it on her the next day when we went to church. Ryan also found his blue tie that matched. They were so cute together.
